having began her career as an occupational therapist Chrissy has a passion for using creative expression and a skills based approach in anything she gets up to.

Chrissy found her passion for art at school; developing a love for pencil and charcoal drawings. With extensive experience in youth, adults, mental health & community development its no supprise chrissy was twitching to go off piste and set up the ArtyBarn.

“Exploring with Art has so much to give, socially, developmentally, and mentally. ArtyBits is about exploring, having a go, but most of all of all it about having giggles along the way!”

Sue began her career as a Staff nurse, working on medical wards and later moving into Primary Education in England (9-13) as head of ICT department. Sue took the brave jump in 2009 to move to scotland and restore an empty farm where she now has her own small holding, kitchen garden and artybarn!

Sue has a natural ability to work with a range of mediums including pyrography, acrylics, water colours, oils, and wood work. Her passion for incorporating her artwork into the grains of wood, is what makes her work stand out!

“Making items that are creative and have purpose I think is where the real fun starts. Nothing better than knowing you made it yourself from start to finish”.
